Antalis acquired Axelium in France

Paris, may 2^nd, 2007

Antalis, the largest European group in the distribution of papers, has closed the acquisition of the French paper merchant, Axelium, and the sale of Antalis Italy to PaperlinX. Both competition authorities in France and Italy have approved these operations.

This acquisition is a further step of strengthening Antalis position in France, one of the most important European market for paper consumption. “ It will allow Antalis to increase its turnover in France and distribute to printers a wider indent offer and a larger products range in Office as well as in Visual Communication.” said Hervé Poncin, Managing Director Antalis Western Europe.

Furthermore, this acquisition highlights Antalis’ strategy which is either to expand into fast-growing countries and market segments like Industrial Packaging, or to strengthen its presence on markets where it is a key player.
